I received a brand new harddrive from IBM when my old HD stop working. The problem is that after i install the recovery CD on the new HD, i can't get into the pre-desktop area anymore. What happened now is that when i hit the access ibm button on the very first screen after i turn on the machine, it didn't show the access ibm tools anymore.
Anybody know how to fix this problem?
I called IBM so many times and every rep told me different thing but still can't figure it out how to fix it.

    Hi,

If i'm not mistaken, pre-desktop area is only loaded when the machine comes with the default HDD. So any hew hard disk u purchase, be it from IBM, it will not have the pre-desktop area.
