    IBM T400 turns on then off

    When i connect the charger to the T400 the laptop turns on for 3-4 seconds and then shuts down.It keeps doing this until i remove the charger from the laptop.No video appears on screen.I know it's not the charger because i used my friends working charger.Help please!!!!!

    It might not help, but it might. Remove the battery and AC source, and hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Try turning the notebook back on after reconnecting the AC by itself.

    Do you get any beep sequences when starting using AC?

    The battery is dead.I removed the battery and charger and hold down the power button for 5 minutes.It didn't work.No beeps.I think the motherboard has a short.

    Have you tried with the charger and without the battery?

    Could be that you have a faulty charger too! Is your laptop still under warranty? if it is you should get in touch with Lenovo to fix it for you :)

    take out the ram and restart the laptop does it beep?
