    Repeated pressing one of Esc, F1, F2 or F12 at the BIOS screen usually works on most notebooks.

    For ThinkPads it's generally the F1 button to access the BIOS which also includes the T30.

    So I am not the only one who only manages to enter BIOS by pressing all those buttons repeatedly during startup :)

    It's quicker than trying to find the answer in the manual. And some years ago I accidentally found that, for Samsung notebooks, Esc brings up the boot device menu. Even now, Samsung's documentation doesn't mention this option.
