    IBM T23 cannot see new HD

    I pulled my dying hitachi out of the T23 and replaced it with a 40 gig samsung. When I try to install windows, it says there is no HD installed. The bios can't even see the HD. I put it in my dell 600m too ans same problem... the guy I bought it from says it has been gov't wiped. What's up with this HD?
