    IBM T23 SSD upgrade

    I have an old IBM T23 that I really do love. It is currently running a 7200rpm 80gb hard drive but would like to install an SSD. Is this possible considering that it does not have an SATA connection?

    There are indeed IDE SSDs. I've got a SiliconDrive in my T41 and that doesn't have SATA.

    Yes but they are mad expensive.

    You could also consider the PATA to ZIF adapter and buying a ZIF SSD as they are much more affordable per GB.

    For what a decent-size PATA SSD would run you, you could get a ThinkPad T4x that would result in a significant overall speed boost. At the upper end, you could probably get an R51 or R60, maybe even a T60.
