Hey everyone i hope someone can help. Ok, i have an R50 obviously and started getting some booting problems. Anyway heres the issue it seems that the battery wont charge or for that matter the laptop wont boot with a fully charged battery as i have several. If i plug it in, it will boot sometimes... less often now.... but heres what happens (when its plugged in) all the lights come on like its going to boot than it moves to the hard drive light, Z,( both green) and the battery light goes from green to an amber glow of the battery. I have taken everything out (everything!) thinking a hardware issue. Swaped the hard drive to make sure... etc. Oh, when it does nto boot you never get to hear the fan... or at least i thought i used to be able to hear it come on when i booted. Any help would be awesome or at least perhaps some options to look for.

How old is the battery? Perhaps the contacts are dirty.

i tried several batteries but i did not check the ones on laptop..... you think that would cause it to not boot and just light up? ill give that a whirl later.

It works normally while plugged into AC w/o the battery?
