    Hello everyone,

great site. I have a quick question - are the IBM notebooks only compatible with IBM / Hitachi HDD's? Cuze I'm trying to install Fujitsu 60GB hard drive in both T50 or X31 - no luck. In one case it doesn't book from it, in the X31 case it dosn't boot, and when I try to reinstall the system it simple BSOD. Please advise. Thanks!

UPDATE: SORRY EVERYONE - FOUND THE PROB. I have had to update the HDD firmware and everything work now! :buyIBM:

fyi - i work with IBM laptops extensively and found a compatibility issue with the new Seagate 40gb drives and the IBM T series. Fujitsu works flawlessly however.

Per IBM tech support, you should stick with Hitachi or Fujitsu harddrives.

I had to learn the hardway, after trying to instal Samsung 80G hard drive on my thinkpad R40
