I like the Forrest Gump intro.
Lenovo definitely needs to bring that feature back (or forward?).

haha 14.4 fax...prodigy. I hate to say it but my x61s doesn't look to much different than this. Looks like Lenovo keeps design cues for awhile.
-
I like how even uses a folding chair.
-
10.4" displays ftw!
-
If this is implemented again, ThinkPads would have such a tiny, tiny footprint.
-
hahaha cool video thanks

I remember lusting after one of those as a kid. Price was a cool $3000+ here in Canada for a blazing 486DX-75, complete with external optical drive...or was that additional? Anyone know how durable that keyboard design turned out to be?
-
Hmm...yeah, considering it adds another set of moving parts to the mix, I wonder how solid those old expandables were compared to today's keyboards.
-
-
Not real sure on that one, but I'd hazard a guess that you're probably close to the mark. Still...kinda nice to see that the ThinkPad style has remained consistent, although that 701 looks a lot more like those bento boxes on the official Lenovo blog than the current ThinkPads do.
-
After poking around the web for a bit, yes, the 701 keyboard's keys look like they have a tad more vertical height than current ThinkPad keys do, so I'm assuming they're probably using some sort of mechanical system like you stated. There seem to be a lot of used 701 keyboards floating around, though, interesting design.

Yeah, with that small a screen, you could just put it in any ol' bag and go. I think it would be a really cool design to resurrect, sort of a corporate version of the EEE PC, but with more gusto.
