    Hi,
I have been using this laptop for the past 5 years without any noticable problems. Two weeks ago, the sound suddenly stopped. No sound while booting, or turning the laptop off, and no sound from any media players. The only sound I can hear are system beeps which can be controled by the volume up and down switch (onthe laptop). i have already checked the driver (in the Device manager), which says the driver is functioning normally. i also tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver (windows XP) and still there is no sound. I wonder if the sound card has stopped working..
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rgds,
    Chintan
