What GPU did you get - integrated, discrete?
-
Integrated... I preffer the battery life. thats why i'm like ... hmm are they going to send the cheaper heat sink....
-
same here...

What i will do is order (i really hope i can) a copper part. THen i am gonna do some stress testing on alu and copper, and post the results. The difficult part is to actually obtain a copper part.
Once done, it will provide some actual results for discussion. -
super, thanks a bunch. I bet you it makes a big difference. -
I bet you it doesn't.
If you are very lucky you'll see a marginal difference in fan-on time. -
-
When i say difference, it also includes the frequency of how often the fan work and RPM.

The integrated video version likely does not get that hot so a copper heatsink may not yield significant cooling gains over an aluminum one. Like if the difference between copper and aluminum is 1-3 degrees Celsius, it won't matter too much.
I would only worry if you are the type that likes to overclock everything in your computer as the heat output would be increased a lot. The Quadro cards get warmer and eat more battery life so that copper can help with the cooling much more than aluminum. -
I got full copper btw.... integreted graphics card. T61 15.4.

I've got an aluminium heatsink/grill on T61 :]
