alright, so this is the laptop i am getting with these specs.

    http://www.cdw.ca/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1389705

Now I would just like to know...is it possible to add bluetooth later onto the laptop and also, upgrade the wireless thing, because apparently from reading these posts, the 39-something isn't as good as the 49-something.

I know that upgrading HDD, ram and DVD drives are a no brainer....but i'm more particularly concerned if bluetooth and the wireless can be switch or this is what i am stuck with?

i would've definitely paid more but due to my budget and urgency of needing a laptop asap, this is what i had to get. it was the cheapest t61 14' i could find with a penryn processor [t8100] with santa rosa, so i figured it might be a good deal. hopefully i won't regret it hahaha.

so....can bluetooth and the wireless be upgraded?

If I remember correctly the bluetooth itself should be easy to install that's not a problem. Here is where my memory is foggy. I think on of the five antennas in the antenna array is the blue tooth antenna. You can check this out in the hardware guid in the sticky above. Pray that you already have this antenna installed because if you don't it's an involved process to install. However, of all of the antennas in the array, the blue tooth is the most isolated and simplest to install should you have to do so.

Installing the Bluetooth module requires disassembly of the LCD bezel, usually soldering the female Bluetooth module socket to the LCD video cable and replacing the clearplate at lower right edge of the LCD bezel with the clearplate that has the Bluetooth indicator.

IOW if one really needs Bluetooth, definitely have the laptop equipped with it at the factory as the DIY process of adding Bluetooth after the fact really isn't for the faint of heart. It's also cheaper to buy the laptop with Bluetooth vs. adding it later.
