Yeah, no other manufacteur has such a cool and decent design as the lenovo thinkpads have. The fact, that all the drivers are downloadable from their homepage is also a big plus, cause I tend to format/repartition completely to install a fresh operating system and all the drivers by myself.

I'm coming from a R60 9461-DXG and I'm thinking of switching to a R61 8918-B8G, mainly because of the slightly faster graphics card and the bigger display.

Is it ok to upgrade from a R60 to a R61? I would choose the T61, but don't have the money.

    chinch123,

I moved your thread to the Lenovo forum, since you've already noted that you are choosing between Lenovo notebooks ;) :).

Unless you really need the upgrade in GPU, I don't think you should upgrade to the R61. I don't think it's worth it; you should save your money for a more reasonable purchase.

Just save up for the T62p. The move isn't worth it at the moment, especially with Penryn on the horizon.

If battery life is a big factor for you and you can wait I'd say wait for the Penryn refresh otherwise the current models will do fine and still last you a long time.

How much is the R60?.....I just ordered the T61p for just under $1500 CAD. With the T7500 processor, 120GB 5400, BlueTooth, FP reader, XP etc.

Have any of you guys who ordered from Lenovo experience long delivery time? Look like it will take mine over 3 weeks to arrive!

On the states side everyone that has ordered T61's has received their order generally in less than a week...X61's are a different story.

Wow 1 week, that sucks for me. I'm not impressed with the long wait. Just better be worth it. It said 1-2 weeks, but i get 3 weeks from the customer service rep. He said it takes 1-2 weeks to build the computer and 5-6 business days to send it.....?

    Thanks for your responses.

Yeah, I must correct that. I'm actually also a Thinkpad Fanboy - not Lenovo.
