How about getting the service manual from Lenovo's site. It should explain fan removal/replacement.

THEY DONT tell me WHERE to BUY a NEW fan! They say "O this isn't a user fixable problem" "Sir, You should let us do this" Sir, please take it to a service center."
I anit driving 2-3 hours to go to some serivce center. -
I've had fans supposedly die on me too.. They were Desktop fans, and a little WD-40 fixed them right up.. Usually they have a little port under the sticker that you just unplug, oil, and then replug.
Not so sure about your Laptop fan, but I doubt its a whole lot different.. I mean, fans are fans..
Don't cry, its not good for you... -
I have a IBM r40 which I have no use for. Only problem with it is the LCD is broken. I dont even use the laptop. It has 2 fans for sale if you want them let me know.

You can order parts directly from IBM... all you have to do is look up the part number (located in the assembly/install manual) of your unit on the ibm website
