    Hello again dear friends.
    To make it short:
    Is it possible to hook a Reciever to the headphones outlet ?

    {U see, my N100 is in my room and in my room there is a great sound system. If I can hook my N100 to the sound system via a "2 to 1" cable (same one U hook your home computet to the spekers it has got) - that would be a blast !! I am afraid to try - the thought "maybe my N100 would explode" wonders in my head. So I decided to wait for your verdict ! }

    THANKSSSSS !!!

    You can.

    But the ideal solution would be to hook up your receiver's digital input to an spdif output on your computer. I know thinkpad docks have an spdif output. I don't know if the N100 has a similar kind of dock.

    I've been playing music from my laptop on my 25-year-old Technics amplifier with an adapter that looks like this. As far as I can tell, it hasn't damaged my sound card or the amplifier.

    This system beats the heck out of those crappy "subwoofer + 4 speakers" sets that they sell for use with computers. :)

    I do this all the time with a cable similar to what Falladir is using. With the surround sound system in the loft I'm actually using a cable that came with my dad's video camera that goes from a 3.5mm jack to 3 RCA (video and two audio) with all three plugged in. On my stereo system I use a nice thick 3.5mm jack to 2 RCA cable from RadioShack. Be careful with the cheapo ones; I went through two of them in 1 year (the 3.5mm jack would bend and break) before I went ahead and bought the gold-plated one I'm using now.

    You betcha. As Falladir said, a simple split cable does it. I've never owned a console CD player in my life.
