When my laptop shipped, I went and checked the FRU number at lenovo parts lookup. Surprisingly, it was not listed. I thought this was an error, but I guess not.
I just received my T61 14.1 with the WXGA+ screen and decided to run PC wizard to find out for sure.
The screen was manufcatrued in week 40 of 2007, so it is brand new. Furthermore, under manufacturer, it is listed as a N141C3-L05. Google shows nothing for this number, however, there are LCD's made by Chi-Mei that are N141C3-L03 and L04. I have a suspicion that my screen is simply a new revision of that Chi-Mei screen. Up until now they only shipped LG and Samsung screens in their WXGA+ model.
And I must say, the viewing angles are not good at all. But then, I am used to my 30in IPS screen.
Thoughts?

I have 2 T61s one is LG and other is chimei ,surprisingly the LG is the one that is grainy ,possibly the worst I've seen.In fact it is even worse than the dreaded samsung thats shipping in the Dell M1530's.
I think Lenovo is shipping a new LCD (CMO) in their T61.
