With 3 Lenovo laptops with us out in Cape Cod right now (T60, T61p, T61) we have an array of AC adapters around the place for charging. One turned out to be my bedroom desk adapter that was strung across a cloth chair covered in about 1 foot of clothes
Well just a few minutes ago I decided to check on it, and the adapter was scorching hot!. Now not only was it powering a laptop that normally makes the 90w adapter warm, it was covered by a stack of clothes heating up over the entire day. The plastic smells burnt, and the seat smells slightly "off". As of right now the adapter still works, but at that temp I dont think it will be with me much longer!
May my Lenovo 65w power adapter go on to live in a better place when it finally decides to kick the bucket. You were my friend little buddy

My Lenovo 65W power adapter that came with my X61s made a high pitched noise. IBM sent me a new 90W power adapter and the noise has stopped. I liked the 65W's portable size but recharging it takes forever.

Mine has been great for this past year, and survived through some very high last summer. No burning plastic smell though.

i'm pretty sure it'll keep going, the plastic burning could possibly have been from the clothes? zippers? logos? buttons?

I actually think it might have been the AC cord burning. Time will tell though, it is still charging my T60 as I type.

Oh and I sure as hell would run back in for my T60 at least. Hardware can be replaced, pictures cant.
I think I killed it (65w adapter woes)
