I need to do images and videos editing on a laptop. Lenovo T60 is a really good laptop but it doesn't have a widescreen, working with multiple windows and tool bars can be difficult...
I've looked into other lenovo laptop and the only choice I have left is a Lenovo 3000 N100. It's got a widescreen and the price is good but the quality is not as good as the T60.
I really hope lenovo will make a widescreen T60...

i with the made one too
i love their T60p
it's incredible.
a lot of people say Asus is next on the build quality list
try one of them.
i love mine, although i'd definitely take a t60p over it if they were widescreen (and they're a big too expensive too!) -
the 15" 1600x1200 is better for working with multipile windows than most widescreens
-
That's a fine resolution but text will be too little and hard to read.
-
How about the Z?

The 15" Flexview screen is very nice, images appear crisp and sharp without the glare. Not even my desktop LCD or old Sony Trinitron CRT comes close to the quality of this screen. I don't think text size should be that big of an issue if your main concern is video & image editing. Resolution should be your top priority. Text size has never been an issue for me...but that's probably because I have corrected vision...

Well, I have T60p.. yes, it's not widescreen, but like it's mentioned above
the 1600x1200 15' screen gives you very pleasant ratio. I'm totally happy
with the screen in terms of it's ratio, colors and quality. It's really the best
I've seen so far. I work with graphics (Video, drawing, animation). It's really
good. So unless you care about being "old fasion", just get the 15" 1600x1200. -
heh its not really about being old fashioned..but 20/20 is probably required for the t60p..i don't wear glasses normally..but i'd almost consider putting them on for that resolution..its that high..which is good but a bit tiny
-
well.. it's pretty small - I agree. But how widescreen would help you ?

Widescreen is very useful for videos and images editing. You can compare 2 windows side by side or put a bunch of tool bars on the side, it really make my work so much easier. Not to mention it's great for DVD movies!

If desktop space, resolution, image/video editing, DVD movie watching are your main criteria for a laptop, I actually recommend getting a Dell e1705 with the WUXGA+ screen. I used my friend's e1705 for a week and the screen was really nice. The dell WUXGA+ screen is the same used in some of the alienware laptops too (Dell owns Alienware). But I guess the 1920 X 1200 resolution is too small for your purposes .

Will external monitor help? In that case, it is much wider.
I guess you can always put a monitor to where you work most frequently, right?
I really want to buy the T60 but it doesn't have widescreen.
