Another angle to show any shifting gradient.

It looks normal and the shift is hardly bad at all.

All the hate against Samsung is overblown IMO. I also own a desktop 19" Samsung SyncMaster 920NW. Its display is gorgeous even for a $200 price point LCD.

If it works for you, it works! But yeah, can you post a picture of a white background?

it won't make sense. if T61Lab posts a picture of a white screen, it still LARGELY depends on YOUR monitor to represent it, either bad or good.

You can still get an idea by comparing a portion of the screen to its surrounding surface.

i was gonna check it out on my desktop S-IPS panel, but T61W2008 is right; pictures really don't help that much.

In the end it's all personal preference. If you can live with the laptop you got, then no need to change.

Not only does it work for me, it exceeds my expectations for a sub $1K display machine. This coming from a 3D computer animator who will be using this for presentation purposes.

As a side note, I really am impressed with the T61 model. It really is an understated, yet, professional looking machine.

Compare some consumer piece of sh*t Dell vs the Lenovo

The only other brand choice that could compare would be the Compaq 8 series.

Here's the original test image I'm using for the following shots.

I chose this high contrast fruit pic because viewed on a good display, the whites are, ermm, white?

We all know what red strawberries look like. We all know what a banana looks like etc. etc. The photo is a good reference image.

I threw in a red sharpie pen, a HEINZ ketchup packet, an OREO cookie pack and a red cap from a coke zero bottle as alternative reference color objects.

The lighting environment (my room) is incandescent.

I had to actually turn the LCD brightness down to 50% to prevent over exposure apparant in the earlier pics.

These are MOTO CELL PHONE CAMERA pics. lolz. Each one drawing closer and closer.

I am one happy camper. Other Samsung owners compare.
