I ordered an X61 Tablet a week ago - it hasn't shipped yet - and now they're $100 less! What to do?

    Hello everyone,

I used Lenovo CPP to order an X61 Tablet a week ago. The estimated ship date is 3/19 - only 5 days away.

I just saw a new deal on the Lenovo (non-CPP) site, with the right code puts my order $100 less than what I just paid - and the laptop I ordered hasn't even shipped yet!

What should I do? I tried calling Lenovo's center but they're closed today.

Can i cancel my order and then order this one? Will I be charged a 15% restocking fee?

you can call lenovo on monday and have the price adjusted.   save a screenshot of the lesser price so you can email your rep when he or she asks for proof.   be sure to include your contractor ID, contractor address, order number, etc.

you can cancel your order as long as it hasn't shipped.   adjusting the price would be much easier.

What I would do is to get a quotation for an identically configured machine at the current sale price. I will also call and ask to adjust the price asap. You have good leverage if the computer has not been shipped yet. Lenovo may ask you to fax or e-mail the quotation. If they adjust the price, then everything is peachy. If they won't, put in a cancellation request, get confirmation, and use the quotation to place a new order. The quotation is good for 7 days.

Lenovo has a mysterious way of expediting your order after you put in a request to cancel. ;) They will charge restocking fee if the laptop was shipped.

    Good luck.

    well, here's another issue:

    1. the cheaper price is with a USP code form the NON-CPP site. it actually comes out cheaper than the site I ordered from, and the code does not work on the CPP site.

I will take a screenshot of the cheaper price and save it, then call on monday.

    Thanks for any more advise.

call the regular sales line.   they should be able to adjust it.

update: i just went to lenovo.com and see why the current pricing is better than what you got through CPP.   the sale prices are the same as EPP, and EPP pricing gets a better discount than CPP.
