Does anyone happen to have a replacement that they don't use?

Yesterday, during my lecture, I was fidgeting with the trackpoint because of this problem I've had for the past weeks. The trackpoint likes to move itself a couple cm's down left when I stop using it. I thought maybe it was the trackpoint. Needless to say, I popped it out and lost it. I have the original one on it, but I was wondering if anyone had the one I liked and could send it for free o_O

It's the rough, oval shaped (like an eraser top) one.

    Huuuh

Don't lick your fingers after using them.

    "blah blah for blah blah"

Don't know if there is a big difference between the brand caps or the brandless ones.

    Didn't know, thanks.

In other news, is it normal that when i stop using the trackpoint it moves a couple centimeters left/down?

I've seen them go for 40¢ on ThinkPads.com, though the last time was a few months ago. You might want to post over there.

Yes, it's normal for it to drift a bit. It's recalibrating itself.

It will get better over time. Also: don't touch it if you don't want it to move. It will adjust to even the smallest forces on it.

It can be quite frustrating in the beginning though, but it will become better.

Yes, that's normal, and if you don't rest your finger on it when you're not using it, it won't do it as much.
