I don't get it.

But I cant test its "real" result until I get my Gigabyte internet access (Fibre to the HOME 1000Mbps) next month.
I am longing for it since I am currently using only a 30Mbps ADSL. -
Very nice mod. Could you be more specific on which WLAN card are you using? Because from the data from the photo I can't tell too much.
Did you need to modify something in the BIOS or it just worked by swapping and installing drivers?
You could test it using your home LAN. Possibly connecting a PC using a GBit connection. I think it would give even more stable results than testing it using an internet server as there could be more speedhogs on the way to the server. -
Out of sheer curiosity, where do you live? -
On the day the engineer come to my house to set up, speedtest gave around 870Mbps (plugging into my Thinkpad GE LAN connector), I am very satisfied.
However, I need to wait until my contract start in May to see the effect of this Broadcom BCM94352HMB card and my ASUS AC66U router.
I tested using the SAMBA server function of the ASUS router, which is not satisfactory. With Intel 6205 (300Mbps), download speed is 5MB/s, with Broadcom BCM94352HMB (866.5Mbps), download speed is 10MB/s. Although it is double up, I dont think this is the actual capacity of Broadcom BCM94352HMB. -
Best of luck with those speeds and don't forget to wear a seat belt... -
So, how did you come by this magical device?!

Is there anything preventing lenovo from offering wireless AC cards (Wilkins Peak 2?) as an option in there laptops? I don't see why the new W540 shouldn't have the option...anyone know?

You can stop rubbing it in. We get it. Hong Kong rules.
Still doesn't make me want to move there. -
i see that you are running X220, and you are using a modded bios without the whitelist. Out of curiosity where did you get the modded bios firmware?

Hong Kong better have plenty of locally mirrored content i.e. Akamai servers etc.
It's all fair and well having 1000Mbps to the home, however not that great if the majority of your content needs to come from a saturated international pipe to the USA or content servers with smaller backbones. Still nice for P2P i.e. torrenting .
Will be interesting to see how Australia goes when/if they finish the NBN FTTH 100Mbps roll-out, should hit my area next year. Unless the idiots in opposition government try change it to fiber to the node. Nothing beats FTTH, it's the gold standard.
