I hope the mods will forgive me for posting this, but I had a really weird dream last night and it has to do with Lenovo.
I dreamed I went to Lenovo's site to finally buy a T420 with PC-DOS. The Lenovo site was exactly the same, but as soon as you click on a notebook to customize it, it redirected you to the HP site with an equivalent model. You wouldn't even know that HP bought Lenovo until you tried to customize a notebook. I was greeted with a cheap, plasticky 14 inch HP Pavillion with only Web OS (instead of PC DOS).
I came here to post about it and already there were several threads with irate members already talking about it.I remember now one of the threads here was, "I will never, ever, EVER buy HP!!!" and it was already 3 pages long when I got here.
Just thought you'd find that amusing.![]()
Now so this isn't completely off topic, I would like to ask because I was wondering, does the ultrabase port replicator give additional ports you can use, or can you only them or your notebook? What I mean is, I have read that if you're using the video port on the port replicator, you can't use the video ports on your thinkpad. Is that true? Because I was thinking about possibly getting one.
-
Dude, you really need to put the keyboard down and play outside for awhile.
-
I'm not sure why you would want to use the video port on your laptop? I have a mini dock 3 which has a vga, dvi, and dp on it. I believe most laptops can only run up to 2-3 screens anyways (SB graphics runs 2 only).
I can still use USB ports on my laptop and on the dock, giving me a total of 9 USB ports. -
@Lonewolf15; Haha, I do play outside, on my motorcycle.
@richan90; Thanks, that's good to know.I thought it maybe just switched over to the dock only when it was connected.
-
you actually dream about that? Hopefully you are not the one whom straps the X1 on the handlebar of the motorcycle.
-
And no, I wouldn't strap it on a motorcycle, but I don't even own an X1 or want one.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
lol that is horrible. If HP bought out Lenovo, I would have to jump ship back to Dell.
-
Actually a ThinkPad with HP Dreamcolor would be quite nice...
... I'll get my coat. -
That's not a stupid dream, it's a nightmare

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Well if Lenovo ever did add a 10 bit IPS RGBLED panel to ThinkPad, I would buy it as I cannot stand Optimus.
-
The worst thing that would happen if HP did buyout Lenovo: All of Lenovo's custom orders would be $1500 more -
-
You dreamed about computer companies?
Dude... I work in software and spend a good portion of every workday perched behind a keyboard, and I've *never* had a computing-related dream. Just saying...
I had a stupid dream - HP bought out Lenovo
