So I was on my bed, and I pulled up my covers and my laptop went screen first onto hardwood floor.

I went crazy until I picked it up, opened the lid, and it went on from standby as if nothing happened.

AMAZING! I wonder if a MacBook can do this..?

Good for you bro. I would avoid putting it on the bed again.

*Glances at his Thinkpad as it lies on bed plugged into A/C*

...Eh it'll be fine, I have carpet. What's the point of having a Thinkpad anyway? =P

exactly my thoughts, i have dropped my Thinkpad on concrete several times (not with the screen open) and apart from cosmetic damage everything else is fine.

Macbook Pro hinge design is weak, if you dropped it with screen open, most likely it would snap off at the hinge.

I did that with my T40 at least half a dozen times (it still works despite that and being 7 years old). Luckily, it hasn't happened to my x200 (yet).

THIS has happened to my x200T a couple times though. Aside from a few nicks, it's no worse for the wear.

I have owned several thinkpads, right now i love my T400

I also own a few HP Elitebooks 6930p, check this out

Keep in mind that most drops the laptop is likely to land on one of the many edges
that may take out the LCD panel.
