My T61 (Windows XP Professional) has been having some problem and several Lenovo support reps all told me to download and install the HOTKEY software (among others) from their website at

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-68000

The file is 7tvu14ww.exe which I downloaded. But when I click on the setup file, I got the message "This program does not support this system". What's the problem? Has anyone else tried to install hotkey software? (btw I noticed the file is a newly updated one)

Many thanks for any help. I try to avoid re-imaging the computer in order to solve the problem.

Do you have power manager acpi driver and software installed? you need those 2 software and drivers for hot key manager to work.

lovan6, I have installed power management driver from

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-4gxpeg.html

    (the file is 7tku03ww.exe)

I searched 'acpi' and it came back the same file 7tku03ww.exe. So what's the other thing needed? Aren't the 'driver' and 'software' the same thing?

    Thanks... :)

Well I just re-installed ThinkVantage Access Connections, and then tried again to install Hotkey. Still get the error message.

The Hotkey setup file SETUP has a red icon with the picture of a computer monitor, unlike most other setup files which are dark blue with arrow-like two triangles pointing to bottom right direction. I'm frustrated with this Hotkey installation, as it must be installed before I install the wireless adapter.

Anyone bother to have a try installing the Hotkey software
    7tvu14ww.exe at

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-68000
and see if you get the same message? :mad2: Thanks for your time! :D

Finally solved! Someone else on this forum had the same problem and I found that post:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=177490

Reason still unknown, but instead of downloading the driver from the above-mentioned site, I did system update (first had to uninstall my firewall to allow system update) in which I checked Hotkey, and it worked! So nice to see the OSD (on screen display) again!

I hope Lenovo will find out the glitch and fix it.

Thanks lovan6 for your time! I'm so grateful to the experts on this forum and those who post solutions of their problems. :D
