Yes this is a double post, but I'm so excited!

Well.. after all of the useful knowledge and advice from these forums, I just pulled the trigger on 14.1 T61p. Bad thing is the estimated ship date is 2-25-08.

Got the 2.5Ghz, 1x 2Gb RAM, 160GB 7200rpm, ABGN Wifi, BT, 9 Cell, and 3 yr accidental dmg for under 2k out the door!

Hold on to your hats....might even be later with the inclement weather that has shut down EVERYTHING in China. Bad time for a Lenovo order.

Nice! The shipment date is quite late anyway, why not just wait for the Penryn? It's only weeks away.

    The 2.5GHz is Penryn.

As ZaZ pointed out, I snagged a Penryn. And so I wait...

It's will probably come sooner! Congrats on your purchase! You will love IBM to Lenovo T series - T61 product. I have a T60 14.1.

If you will be adding RAM, 1GB, consult with the Forum with any installation issues. There is a lot of knowledgable members here!

I'm in the same boat, 2-25-08 for the estimated ship date on my R61-14W w/t9300. Hopefully it will be worth the wait, in the meantime my old core duo 15.4" dell is still working and I have an asus 4g eeepc to play with.

I must say though, I am really looking forward to it's arrival. :D

I opted to get the 1x 2GB stick specifically so I could add more :) I've worked on and used a lot of laptops, but the only one I've ever purchased was a Compaq m300. The poor 700mhz celeron is destined to be used solely for web surfing while tethered to the AC. Ahh the joys of being impatient!
