Congrats. You'll be hooked for life.
-
Cool!
I wonder how good those 14.1 SXGA+ screens are! -
They're the same 14.1" SXGA+ screens Thinkpadders have been using for years. This means they're a bit dull, but of outstanding quality!
-
And.. hmm.. which Macbook Pro uses 570M graphics? I have only seen with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics.
Can you post pictures of the laptop? I think it is very interesting for everyone here, since you must be the first person (probably) in this forum owning such computer!
And please, take a screenie of your system properties page also (left klick on computer and properties pages, you know) -

Most likely a typo on his part, T7300.
Anyhow, pictures of the 4:3 14" T61p have been floating around the Internet for awhile. Example
Congrats on your purchase Vengance_01. I will be joining the club once Lenovo rolls out a 10% SPP coupon. Finding out that it would be compatible with Penryn with a bios flash would seal the deal (Both are socket P).
More details about the battery life and graphics card would be much appreciated once you receive your notebook. (which is hopefully soon ^^) -
Say did it come with FIREWIRE or IR?

And a usual T7300... arrfff.. I thought they released an odd model on the market with special features :-/ -
T61 and T61p 14.1" probably don't differ other than video card. Or atleast I'd assume.

I got the same thing you did, but no fingerprint scanner or draft-n wireless
but my shipping date is 8/31 supposedly. looks like i'll beat you to that review -

this deal seemed to good to pass up ; 80 gig hard disk, no fingerprint, no draft-n.......512mb ram, vista home. But I did get the Verizon WWAN card.... 1248.25 after taxes not too bad. Seems like a great deal

-
haha....depends whose lenovo decides to ship first. besides....no harm in two reviews right?
-
Well, they may decide to publish only one of the reviews...
And congrats on the purchases, both wuzer and vengance. I'm considering ordering one of these for myself next week, in light of more delays for the Asus F8Sv. I have doubts that it will come out by next month, so its a different notebook for me. This is probably the most powerful 14" outside of the F8Sv and the Zepto 6324W.... -
how true about publishing only one review.
i still don't know if i want to cancel my order and wait for the 15.4" t61p's to be back on sale. i just don't know how much heavier the 15.4" is compared to the 14.1" because if the 15.4" weighs only 6.5 pounds, I can deal with it. -
i just called lenovo again and they told me to call again in another week so they could give me more information about what's causing the delay. great.
-
-
Hmm - what's the weight on this badboy as compared to a T40 14.1" 4:3 or a T60 14.1" 4:3?
-
almost makes me want to cancel and just order again in september when they "should" have things fixed. -
-
yeah, i'm hoping if i bug them enough they'll bump my shipping up to expedited.

Hey Smoothoperator,
I thought you already had your notebook.....which notebood did you uninstall the pesky utilities from? -
smoothoperator Notebook Evangelist
I have a T60p and had a x61t ( I did the same for both) but Lenovo bought the tablet back and now I am getting the T61p 4:3
-
I see a T61 with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M, is that the same thing? -
no, the t61p has been taken off the lenovo website because of part shortages.

did yours have the TMD or Samsung Screen?
I bought my First Thinkpad, T61P 14.1inch
