good to hear, i'm jealous about the ram. i wish i got some more. i would reccomend doing a clean install but hitting the thinkvantage button upon boot. doing a traditional clean install can become cumbersome when it comes to drivers and getting the blue button to work properly. If you dont care about lenovo's tools, then disregard my post.

    How's the 7200 rpm harddrive?
    How big?
Does it get hot after extensive use? (located under the right palm rest)

man mine gets hot just with the 5400.

guess "hot" is relative though, depending on what you're used to. can't wait til ssd's are huge and cheap.

    same here, I have the 100GB 7200rpm w/3GB ram, T.memory, 2.2ghz, X3100.
the computers is SUPER quiet and cool ! even under 100% load.

BTW, I reinstalled Home Premuim (Using the provided DVD) the computer is amazingly fast ! only 40 proccess (other then 90).
Outlook 2007 w/1GB pst file loads in 2 seconds.

I do have some other problems, but will post later.

Numnum, did you have to reinstall all of the drivers, I thought that the discs they gave us were loaded in bloatware and full of all the junk when you first turn it on...

The DVD I got with the laptop is the MS Upgrade DVD.
once you load it after boot and type in your MS Key it will install clean Vista OS.

so yes, I had to setup everything from scratch.

    * pls take a look at my 4-cell Batt. issue.
