Hey guys! After much research and reading of reviews, comments on this site and others, i have placed my order for the x41 tablet this morning. For those of you interested, today is October 18 and it is said to ship on november 15. So about a 4 week wait before it ships, then i'm guessing around 1 week before i get it. i'll let you guys know if it does indeed come when they say it'll come!
Specs:
1.6 ghz
512 ram (i bought an extra 512 mb stick of ram as well)
60 gb hard drive
and i got this tablet sleeve from ibm which acts as a case but you can still write on the tablet in the case, which seems pretty cool.
no optical drive, but i found some good external ones for around $150 usd
Question: is it necessary to buy a screen protector for my tablet? Does the pen scratch up the screen or whatever? if so, where can i get a good on for the x41 tablet!

Nice choice! The X41 is certainly one of the best tablet PC's avaliable.
Nope, you don't need a screen protector. The pen is designed to be written on the screen. I've heard that the X41 has a great "pen on paper" feel to it, so you are probably better off just using the screen.
