I have been very disappointed in Lenovo's response to emails, ability to process and ship my refurbished order. My order experience feels like I'm dealing with a mom and pop store rather than a major computer manufacturer. How would you rate your purchase experience:

Eight days from order to delivery of a 6459 CTO. Email when shipped. Delivered the next day.

    Very pleased.

I would never have ordered a Thinkpad, let alone a T61p, without the discounts and coupons available. Thinkpads were always above my price range. Lenovo's recent prices made my Thinkpad possible. And what a machine it is! Unfortunately, I have introduced 'Thinkpad envy' to my workplace. The Dell Vostros and Compaq laptops aren't good enough anymore. Everyone wants one, and I know of 2 people who ordered more base T61s and await delivery. Great product. Killer price.

No more Dell, HP or Toshiba for me. I'm converted!

I have had great experiences ordering my machines through lenovo. I ordered a T61 and T61p over the last few months and both arrived in perfect shape and quickly. My first T61 came to me in 5 to 7 days in hand and my T61p came to me in 10 days with the hard to get 9 cell battery. But my whole ordering process was through the website, so I had no human interaction. I got an email that the machine was shipped and i was able to check my order status on their site and it was marked as shipped. i wish their feedback was a little better though. For example it would be nice to know what stage the machine was in instead of just "In Process" till it is shipped. So there is room for improvement. BTW I have read all the nightmare stories with ordering, but I did not experience any of them thankfully.

My order shipped like about 10 days after order day. Plus, they took away 2 business days shipping from me because of error from their website.

Anyway, the shipping periods are different in most case.

I've ordered once through salesperson and another time through the website. No real complaints about either route.

I oredered a T61 about a month ago. Did it on the phone. Was easy and the guy was helpful and a great discount.
The computer arrived in about 10 days so that was pretty good I thought.
However....the wireless wasn't working. I had bought the upgraded on-site service for another $299. So I called them for service, had to give them a zillion bits of information and then they said I need to brind it into a service depot.

I smiled to myself and said triumphantly: 'ahah but as you can see I bought the on-site contract'.
They said they didn't see it. Hmmm.
I found my order/receipt while talking to service and offered to fax it to them as proof. They said ok and off it went. They told me to call back later.

I called back, waited in line and got service only to be told that I did not have on-site service. Being clever (I thought) I told them that I had been through all this and had faxed the receipt and had the name of the person I had done all this with (I couldn't talk to him because, as I forgot to mention, they had transferred me to another department from service at the previous call in order to confirm the warranty issues).
Well, he informed me, they didn't have a record of the warranty,
To cut a longer story short after 2 more phone calls I returned the computer for a full refund.
Why? I figured that I didn't want to deal with a company that was so confused by its own administrative proceedures.

8 days from order to shipment. Very pleased with the whole process. Technical support answer phone in few minutes from but both my T61 and R61 had hard drive and fan problems.

Purchase experience was very good. I got my notebook within about a week of ordering sometime in Februrary. No hassles to put it simply. My brother's experience with getting a refurb T42 was also very good.

Their 'support forum' doesn't have a "search" option. Crazy!

Just like this here forum. Even more crazy!

What's with the user-unfriendly config on this forum? Why can't I do an egosearch? Each time I get here I'm at a total loss where my postings are. And where is the Search forum option?

I ordered a T61P back in June.. June 6th I think. I got it on the 11th/12th (don't exactly remember, but it was much, much quicker than what the ESD was). So, overall experience: great.

The Customer Service is kinda hit and miss. I placed my order on 7/17 from 7/17 to 7/28 i got no responce about my order. I called on 7/28 to find out that my order would be delayed, because of the blutooth. That was no problem so then i canceled the order. They said it would take 2-3 days for it to be canceled. I thought that was strange, so i called back and this person canceled it on the spot. I placed the new order and he reaffirmed to me that i would have no delay with my new order.

I would rate my experience as poor, which is too bad because I would rate the computer itself as excellent.

Basically I ordered a T61 on 5/28, it arrived on 6/6. I was very happy with the speed of the shipment, the problem is I never got a shipment confirmation e-mail and my credit card was not charged. I called Lenovo because of another question (warranty look-up site showing incorrect warranty) and they tell me they have no record of my machine and that it has not shipped yet. I give them my serial number, get transferred around a few times and finally get to someone who tells me that serial number is not valid, and that the computer I received must be wrong. So we go through the specs and yes, it is the exact computer I ordered, so he tells me he will investigate and get back to me. That never happens.

Finally on 7/8 I get an e-mail saying my machine has shipped 7/7 and they charged my card. I wonder if I am going to get another computer but that doesn't happen so I figure perhaps they finally got around to processing my order and the dates just happen to be screwed up. So I email the person back who I was talking to in the warranty department asking her to check my warranty (which is still showing up incorrectly) and I never hear back from her....

I have been very pleased with the T61 and it is easily the best notebook I have ever owned. Its a shame that my other experience with Lenovo has been so negative and I cannot believe that a major computer manufacturing would have such ridiculous problems with their ordering system. Mistakes certainly do happen, but there are many other reports of ordering and shipping problems with Lenovo and it seems to be one of their key problem areas.

Excellent service. I ordered my computer first week in February, it arrived at my front door a week and a half later. That's very good in my book. Excellent computer, by far the best I've owned, and not a single thing wrong with it (knock on wood).
