I heard good things about 8600GT GDDR3's overclocking abilities, and the 14" FX570, although crippled by 64-bit, still has the same clock speeds and great overclocking potential, right?

I'm pretty sure it's like every other graphics card OCing, should be pretty well though since it already can handle crysis and other new games.

Well, the 14" FX570 has half the bandwidth rate I think.

But if playing at low resolution, it should perform like a normal 8600GT GDDR3 right?

I heard the 15 inch one can be overclocked to perform on par with 8700 GT...

There is only so much heatsink and fan to cool both the CPU and GPU. In the design, the T61p fan seems to runs slowly and quietly. While gaming, the fan runs moderately, and the air coming from the laptop is warm, meaning that the heatsink is doing it's job, but the fan could run a little faster.

If I were going to overclock my T61P, and I'm not, I'd make sure the fan is on all they way while the GPU is running, and I'd look into undervolting the main CPU, because some people have had success with that. I'd have a full backup--and have my warranty card in hand ; )
