I'm considering one and I have a gift card expiring in a few days, so I really need to think fast. How warm do the y510ps get when pushed during gaming? I don't need to have them on my lap so it's okay if they get hot down there but how about on the keyboard? Is it uncomfortable? I've heard conflicting things and don't really want a cooling fan.

Well, the dual exhausts do a good job of pushing the majority of the heat towards the side and away from your lap.

What I'm wondering is if someone who owns a 510p can tell me about the heat on the keyboard, if it puts heat out of the computer through vents it doesnt bother me as much because thats good it's getting the heat away from your hands and out of the internals

The keyboard and metal casing areas near the left and right side exhaust vents get extremely hot when gaming.

If you have SLI, the right side vent will be blowing burning-hot air directly at your mouse hand unless you move it.
