So I have an X60 running Vista x64. Because I'm running 64bit, I have to use the ISO CD image to update my bios. But The ISO CD image only supports the Thinkpad Ultrabase. I have a USB dvd drive. What to do? I'm thinking about installing XP back on an external harddisk and then booting that up so that I can run the bios exe.

To answer my own question, it turns out to be easy. Lenovo is just making it a pain in the ass for no reason. I even called IBM and they said that it couldn't be done under 64 bit without a Ultrabase. But I simply broke up the ISO and copied the flash files to my emergency Windows 98 boot flash. Ran the flash program and everything is fine. Why don't they make it easy and just give you the flash program and binary files on the website?
