I removed my keyboard from my notebook, im just wondering; how do i determine what type it is NMB, Alps or Chincony.
Im planning on getting a t60 or the T series refresh with core 2 duo; and im just wondering in the future how do i tell; and is there any way to look up who the manufacturer is.
thanks
My keyboard FRU: 08k4562

You can find out the manufacturer for any part in your Thinkpad by going to the Parts lookup page.

It just tells me the FRU of my keyboard; no manufacturer is listed; should there be?. how do i actually ascertain the manufacterer?

There a link on the parts lookup page that says something like, ' list of serviceable parts'. Get your FRU # then click this link. There will be a place to select what parts of your system you are looking to replace. I believe one of these choices says "keyboards". This will lead you to a screen that listed the different FRU #'s for each keyboard type (ALPS, Chicony, NMB).

Or do a search on this forum for NMB, there are tons of posts regarding keyboards, preferences, and FRU#'s.
How to tell what type of keyboard i have
