I'm the owner of a thinkpad x61 with a 8 cell battery. The design capacity is 74,88 Wh and now the full charge capacity is 60,81 Wh, it's normal?? I bought the computer in December 2007. After a complete charge, I only can use the computer about 3 - 4 hours......... Thanks

So you lost approx 18.8% capacity in 20 months , so nearly 10% a year, I normaly say you should not lose more than 10% capacity in the first year, so you are pretty close.
If you have an extended warranty you could see if they will give you a new battery but this is not a dead cert.
How many charge cycles have you had, did you hammer the battery.
But once the capacity is gone, you cannot get it back. -
Batteries are not generally covered under upgraded warranties. The batteries themselves have a 1year warranty.

The battery has 250 cycles counts... and I didn't hammer it. The manufacturer is SONY. Which are the causes of the loss of capacity??

He meant hammer as in putting a lot of cycles on it.

After read this article, I have one question........ when the battery is storage?? I always use the battery and I can't place in a cold site.... And I should buy a new one, no?

I would just use the battery as you have been doing, I would not worry about keeping it cool and at certain charge levels, you will only save 10% max, it`s just not worth it.
When it dies, buy a new battery or a new notebook. -
Thanks so much
How to reset the battery capacity?
