    Hi all,

    I recently took delivery of my 14.1 SXGA+ T61p with a 128mb FX 570m chip.

Although most games are playing very nicely at this point
    (30fps solid HL2 High) (90 fps avg CS:S) (30 fps avg FEAR med-high)
I would like to install some GeForce Drivers to better the gaming performance.

All I know, from posts i've read, is that the .inf file needs to be modified (?) and i'm not quite positive how to go about doing that and/or where to get these modified files.

Also, i'm not sure of which Geforce Drivers to use.

If anyone know's the answers to some or all of these questions, maybe a HOW TO: guide can be written as I know there are many of us T61p owners who would like better gaming performance.

    Thanks in Advance

Thats a great question denizpa. I, too, would like to know how to install nvidia geForce drivers instead of the lenovo ones and find out if there are some performance enhancements.

    Go here
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com

Be sure to read the FAQ, there's more to this than just clicking the 'driver download' link. Though not difficult.

Wow, I've got this rig on order Denizpa. Nice to see that it is playing games well. Be sure to let us know how to use the geforce drivers and how hard/easy it is AND how much difference it makes.

Not to steal the thread, but can I ask you some questions?
How do you like the screen? Is the matte nice?
Does the 6 cell battery stick out the back?
Are those fps scores on XP or Vista?
    When did you order/recieve it?
I have an ESD of 9/6 but am worried. Thanks and congrats.

Are these better drivers than the Nvidia drivers?

They are nvidia drivers, tweaked to work w/ different mfrg's tweaks.

Do us a favor once you get the new drivers loaded, can you tell us what are your clock speeds, and how well 3dmark 06 runs. You should be over 3K if it indeed has GDDR3 ram and a 8600GT Core. :) I am wondering because I have one on order and there was a report on another forum that he only got just above 2K :(

Hey all, I just loaded the nVIDIA ForceWare X 165.01 for Windows Vista 32bit drivers from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com and modified the .inf files. Even though the 570m wasnt shown in the supported cards list, I tried anyway.

The result was: BAD. I have my T61p in a dock connected to an external display and after installing these drivers, the T61's screen went all black and i had to roll back the drivers (which are now working fine).

For those of us with a 570m who want to use geforce drivers, we may have to wait a bit longer before for our card to be supported.

165.01 doesn't run well for me either, try 162.5

Hmm maybe this is a difference between the 570m with 256 mb of ram vs 128 mb, but I've seen a posting on another forum where he achieved a score of 3740 with 3dmark06 on Vista. My laptop, also with 256 mb of ram, on 3 runs I achieved scores of 3878, 3867 and 3874 running on Windows XP.

I am curious.. does a DirectX10 card like the Quadro fx 570m run better on vista or xp? I would asssume a dx10 card would work better on a dx10 platform..

    Any comments?

It all depends on the driver support. Right now the drivers for XP and Vista work pretty much equally well, though of course on XP you can not play games in DX10 mode.

I too would love to see some 3dmark06 scores, and perhaps a read out from rivatuner, as their have been reports that this card is crippled with a 64-bit memory bus.
