I'm interested in this as well. I tried calling through the EPP number but couldn't get a better price than what was already listed.

When I was looking at a p50 and p70 there are places on the bay that sold refurbed ones that were basically just open box, they had quantities of over 50 and I think when inventory got to high my watchlist told me it was 10% off. I also happen to have had a 4x ebay bucks offer (8% rebate) and using your credit care rebate you get at least another 2%.

So it was already reduced refurbed -10%, -8% and -2% . I waited for the same when I bought my m4800.

I'm curious why switch to Lenovo? If you're looking to save money, the Dell Outlet is just about the best thing since sliced bread.

I agree. The outlet is amazing. And the xps 15 (2016) would just about be my next machine.... If it were not for the 500 posts of misery that dominate that discussion page.

Latitude wise... Which would be nice to conform to my current e dock. I don't see much that is compelling with at least a moderate dedicated GPU. Which I need for autocad and vectorworks.

The P40 yoga is an interesting prospect to me. I wish the price were lower...especially since most of the specs inside the machine are pretty old, port types, sata, etc.

If it came down to the p40 yoga vs the xps 15 - the xps would likely win out. Specs are higher & price is way lower. But Dell seems to have released a nightmare laptop in the xps 15.

Perhaps, but you should know that people with a complaint tend to be much more vocal than those without one. It tends to make things appear much more negatively than they are in reality. That's of course not to say there aren't legitimate complaints.

I hear you. And appreciate what you are saying. But also - prospects like adding thermal paste and heat pads to make brand new machines even work.... There are some pretty extreme steps going on there.... At least for some of us. I expect $1500 or even $1000 - to work. Ya know?

Think I will try to limp thru the summer and see if any refreshes with the 1060 or other newer GPU start to come along.

    Thanks for the replies.

Not having read where you gathered that information, I imagine it's more of a nit-picky thing with the thermal stuff than actually non-functional machines. Some people will spend a lot of energy and time to shave a few degree C from their computer temperatures, much in a similar way as car enthusiasts will do some crazy things with their engines to squeeze a few extra HP.

    Back to the original question...

Before calling log onto the shop lenovo site with one of the discount options. Corporate perks, Barnes & Nobel etc. You can search for them.

You get a 20%-30% off the regular prices. then call and negotiate.
