In Batter Information it says my battery condition is poor. The battery is charged to 95% but refuses to charge more. The battery light on my laptop is also blinking orange and it won't work without an AC adapter. Is there a way to fix this?

You can't fix battery wear. You just get a new one.

It's only a few months old. Probably only 10 cycles.

Well if the battery life is considerably less than when you first got it, then the battery is going bad. But if the battery life is the same, then why worry about what other programs say about it.

Worry only when you get a big decrease in battery life.

Download and install the new power manager driver or do a battery discharge through rescue & recovery and it will give you a more accurate reading of the condition of the battery. Either way your battery is dead. Call Lenovo to have them send you out another since its only a couple of months old.

I've had the same problem on my Z61t a week back.

One way to repair the battery is to reset the battery using thinkpad power manager. Go to the 'battery information' tab in the 'power manager' and click on the 'battery maintainence' button. In the new window opened, click on the 'perform reset' button. This might or might not work, but is worth giving it a try.

If this does not work, call a Lenovo rep(which I did in my case after the above did not work) and tell him/her the whole scene and she'll collect info regarding you battery(like serial no, fru number) and if it is under warranty,he/she will send you a brand new battery. The process takes less than 5 minutes after you are connected to the rep. I got my new battery in 2 business days along with a return label for the old defective battery.

    Hope this helps.
