I want to order a mSATA SSD to make my current X220 (with HDD) faster but didn't want to reinstall the OS. So after I install the SSD will it just work as a cache or do I need to install additional software to make it work?

I had to install the expresscache software, but I found it to be a waste of money (bought a 24GB sandisk msata caching drive). It is far better to use a full fledged SSD and put your full OS and necessary software on it, but if you want to go with the caching route, I can sell you my sandisk caching drive with the proper expresscache partition preformatted on it.
