I have E330 which fortunately still has physical trackpoint buttons :hi2:
This is my first thinkpad and I really love the trackpoint as I barely need a mouse anymore. One of my favorite feature is the page scrolling by holding middle buttons and moving the pointer down or up.
However in some pages like facebook's photo view and yahoo mail, sometimes when I do page scrolling with trackpoint, I will indavertently swipe the pointer to left/right, which the website page will response it by switching the page to next or previoius page (horizontal scrolling). It's very annoying when it happens.
I wonder if the trackpoint's middle button + left/right swipe can be disabled ?

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly but the windows default driver usually allows for scrolling in all directions but if ultranav driver is installed it only scrolls verticle (up/down). You'll also get a different context icon when it's pressed. This is how it works on most thinkpads but I don't have your model and am not sure if anything was changed but I do agree that the left/right scrolling can be annoying when it's enabled, especially if you're trying to view the bottom of a photo and find you've now scrolled several photos away from the one you want to see and you're not even sure which direction.... one of many reasons I dislike facebook.

I'm not sure what to say because I don't know what we are doing differently, or if it's a difference in hardware, but with ultranav installed I don't have do disable anything, it just doesn't scroll left/right on facebook photos. Without ultranav it does.
When you click your middle button do you get an icon with four arrows? or an icon with only a scroll up/down bar? -
I installed most of the E330 drivers using thinkvantage system update.
These are the screenshots of my ultranav setting.
Is it same with your thinkpads?
How to disable Trackpoint's middle button + left/right swipe ?
