I did a clean install of windows xp a few ways ago. When I received my notebook from lenovo the Bluetooth started everytime I started Windows.

Anyway to disable bluetooth so it doesnt start when windows does?

I checked all the Bluetooth settings and there is no option to disable it upon startup?

I have have two adobe programs in the startup menu also that I want to disable. But I dont see adobe running?

Here is a screen shot of the programs I want to disable on startup.

Do you want to disable it permanently or do you want to have the option to manually start it?

Yes, I just want the option to manually start it if I'm going to use it.

I use it occasionally so I don't want to disable it permanently.

Fn+F5 doesn't give you the option to disable it?

It is disabled, but the program still starts up when windows does even though its disabled.

I see the problem...the Startup folder is for programs that you want to start up, not disable at startup...

Remove them from that Startup folder.

    Okay, thanks again!

I did not know if I just delete the start up programs in the startup folder will do the trick. I thought I had to configure it in the program and disable it that way.

You are mostly correct. It is primarily advised to disable a program from startup via its program settings. If there is no such thing, then we examine that Startup folder and then MSCONFIG.

If there is anything else, feel free to ask.

What if I want to put the bluetooth back into the startup folder. How do I do that? I went to the startup directory. C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas\Start Menu\Programs

    Its empty.

    I havent deleted anything yet.

Try C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. The Bluetooth software shortcut should be there.
