These two services are installed with ThinkVantage, and automatically start everytime
during system startup. I was trying to disable the
two services in order to make bootup faster.
However, in "Administritive Tool", everytime I changed the properties to "disbaled", it change
back to "automatic". I also tried to disable them
using msconfig, but they still automatically start.

I even cannot stop them when they are running
Can someone give me a solution? Thanks!

I accomplished this today. I had three TVT services and the first two would not permit disabling but I ws able to disable the third. Once I accomplished that... in Administrative Tools | Services, I was able to permanently disable set the other two to disabled. The next time I boot Vista, supposedly they will not start up.

On reboot, the third service was disabled. The other two had been re-marked automatic.

So I came up with another way to deal with it.

In windows explorer I went to c:\program files\lenovo\rescue and recovery

    I typed Control-A
I then hit the delete key.

Almost all the files were deleted. A couple were not because they are running. BUT I now believe there isn't going to be any thing there to run them the next time I boot. :)

And That didn 't do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooooooooo.... I went into the registry and found

HKLM/SOFTWARE/LENOVO/RESCUEAndRecovery and deleted the whole tree under it.

    THAT DID IT.......

Yes, I deleted the files because I plan to never run rescue and recovery. I have long ago deleted the recovery partition and I have good vista backups.

Now if I can only figure out what secuirty program it is the bugs me everytime I reboot....... when I do.... the last thing it will ever see will be the recycle bin

You know? It looks to me as if I have a whole lot more physical memory than I had.... :)

I dont think I've noticed anything like that. That doesn't mean it's not there.
However I'd be really afraid of messing the fingerprint reading. There one trick
you can try if you want because it's easy reversable.

Let's say you suspect Fiddle.exe. Rename it to Fiddle.exeORG. Then reboot.
Check and see if that achieved the desired result and that everything works. If yes, leave it. If no, you can rename it back to Fiddle.exe.
