    Hi,
Is it possible to create a bootable rescue disk onto a USB stick, when I have the restore DVDs themselves? I got my X201i with 32bit operating system and I had Lenovo send me recovery disks with a 64bit version of Windows.

Because the Rescue and Recovery disks can be created to a USB stick when I want to backup my notebook, I assume that the same USB stick could be prepared from the DVDs? Then it would be possible to restore from the USB stick. It would probably be faster than the DVDs, plus, I don't need external DVD drive.

Anyone knows if this is possible?

Another question, if I have changed the system partition sizes (but still have the original recovery partitions, those were not changed), does the restore process erase EVERYTHING from the hard disk and recreate the partitions? Or does it only change the contents of the recovery partitions and the primary system partition (C:\)?

    Thanks!

The more I think about this, the more I wanna ask, "Are you sure?"

I have a 4GB USB flash drive, that I have installed the Windows 7 Ultimate installation media on. Could something similar not be done with rescue media?
