    Guys,
    I am thinking to buy extra memory for my Thinkpad T42. The price listed at IBM's website seems a little bit higher. I wonder if I buy memory somewhere else, how do I know whether it is compatible with my Thinkpad or not?
    Thanks for your replies.

    Put a stick of this in my T41:

    No problems so far. Sometimes you can find it cheaper at Best Buy, Circuit City etc., but that usually involves rebates. T42 use PC2700 memory. Make sure you get notebook and not desktop memory. Good Luck.

    I know things, things that could get me killed

    Thinkpad T41:
    * 1.6Ghz Pentium M * 768Mb Memory * 40Gb Hitachi 7200RPM * Panasonic UJ-845-B DVD+RW *
