    Hi guys.

I have a question about my laptop (R52) that got a XGA LCD. I want to raise the sharpness of the LCD but I cant. The only buttons I found on the keyboard are refered to Light adjustment. But I need to change the sharpness. Can anyone help me with that ?

    With regards.

1024x768 is the highest resolution you can run at usless you can get an external monitor.

I know that, but isn't there any other way to improve the sharpness of the screen ?

Turn the brightness all the way up, first.

Next, install the color profile for your screen, if it hasn't been installed already (it should be, and it'll be called IBMTPLCD).

Then, make sure that your resolution is actually AT 1024x768 - non-native resolutions will cause fuzziness.

The only other option is to get a higher resolution screen and install it. For the ultimate in clarity, there is a 2048x1536 display available for $1300 (for just the LCD panel - not all the stuff you need to install it).

When you disconnect the power adapter, the display automatically dims a bit, to save battery. You can disable this option in the BIOS, I think, and the display will be on full brightness all the time.

There's an application from Microsoft called ClearType Tuner. If you run that, it can help an LCD screen look better.

It can help a CRT look better too, but some don't agree with me. Preference really, nothing more.
