Is your t500 really hard to open? I am not sure if its just mine being new, or if they are all hard to open.

When I unlatch, alot of times I have to open it enough to stick my fingers in the crack, and then regrip, and then use both hands to keep the notebook bottom down and pry the top open.

    Thanks!

This is good thing because in three years when your LCD still maintains it's position, others will not.

Indeed, Zaz. Thinkpad owners like it when we can have the LCD open and have our laptops weight on it (flipped over) and still have the hinges hold the weight ;).

Yeah I agree stiff and strong hinges are definitely a good thing on a laptop :)

Unless its actually stuck in a certain position.

I can hold the bezel of mine walking around the house.
And mine has so many abuses after nearly 6 years.
