Assuming both have a 9 cell based on their processors - Montevina (P8600) vs. T9300?

maybe an hour at most? it's hard to say so soon. We are still waiting on people to get the new T400's and NBR to review them!
-
Considering the awful battery life the T61 with discrete graphics had... really bad. I'm hoping that it's returned to that of the T41/42p
-
how long do you think we'll get some good reviews out there? hopefully not all the way until September...

whats awful battery life on the t61 with the 9 cell and discrete? I have no clue just wanna know what i'm in for

Not sure about the 9 cell but there's a lot of reviews out there where the 6-cell struggles to go much over 2 hours, I believe. It's been a long time. A 9-cell will give you a lot more bang for your buck obviously.
It's just shocking when compared with my aged T41p with 50% loss of charge can get 2h30mins running Linux... which isn't as optimised as Windows, that's with a 9-cell by the way. -
Judging from the X200 review, battery life on the new T400's should be pretty good. In the review here, a P8600 with X4500 integrated could go nearly 10 hours on a 9-cell battery, or more than 8 hours with regular usage. This is also using DDR2 memory, and from what I've read DDR3 should be more efficient. This also uses a CCFL screen, and the LED should again be more efficient.
The larger screen on the T400 will obviously draw more power, but the X200's numbers should give an indication of what to expect.
How much more battery life for T400 vs. T61?
