I bought my x61 around nov 7th, got it on nov15th for $1,054+tax using EPP discount with the configurations in my signature. I just found out that they are giving out ecoupon that can stack up with EPP and CPP :( I could have saved $100 or so if I was a little patient.

I ordered it on 10/31/2007 with CPP + ecoupon (extra 10% off).
I have similar configuration (including T7300, bluetooth) like yours (160GB 5400rpm hard drive - same price as 100/7200)

    I paid $966 + $48 tax (Maryland)

You can't dwell on that. Next month it will be a much bigger discount and will continue to go down

I've had mixed results but most of them have been positive.

I ordered a T61p in late Oct and received a delivery date of Jan and I really didn't want to wait that long so I bought a brand new t61p in a sealed box. It was advertised as having everything including a WWAN card. When I received it, I didn't have any sign of there being a WWAN card, other wise the machine is magnificent. I shared my confusion with the seller and he too was confused. Two days later he apologized profusely and said he had been confused. He sent me a $100 refund... but a new Sierra card cost me 289 and I had to replace the antenna kit which was another $35.00 and a number of other small parts. I kknow and understand hardware but I find working on my own to be sort of stressful and there I was a couple of days latter with my denuded T61p with antenna parts and cable all over the place. in the end I was really successful and I do think the Ebay guy made and mistake. Mistakes like that are very costly to try and fix not to mention stresful.

Laptop itself *config on my sig* 1033
    4 Year Thinkpad Protection 284
    Tax 100

    Total: 1400

Did anyone else get warranty on these things, it seems like I am the only one. I think the warranty is awesome for only 300 bucks you get warranty and accident coverage. Any input?

I got mines in october of this year with these specs:

    2.0 or 2.2 dual core (i forgot)
    fingerprint reader
    100 7200 rpm hard drive
    2gigs of ram (2x1)
    vista basic
and other standard stuff... no extra progs, ect.
    came out to $950 + tax= 1024

I changed my order twice because of pricing. First time around...it was at 1148 and then again at 12 something with the 10% off coupons and less configuration. I then ordered it during the anniversary with almost 30% off 20% + 10 % ecoupon for $1000.

I just took in the computer even after Lenovo didnt put the wwan antenna i had asked for with the upgrades. I was so pissed cause i wanted to make my x61 look like a spy laptop :p But i didnt feel like sending it back after waiting close to a month to just get the x61.\

I got the standard 1 year warranty and paid with American Express to get an additional 1 year of coverage. I rarely would keep a laptop for more than a year or two before I would be selling it and buying a new one so if the new owner wants to extend the warranty then that it's out of their pocket and not mine.

i only have the standard warranty (1yr).. 300 bucks is still a lot to ask from a student don't you think?.. One quick question: can you extend the warranty after one year?

I'm a student and I think it's a steal compared to Dell's warranty and accident program which is a separate entity of each other. I think it's about 300-400 for each different program.

And I dunno about if you can extend it but I bet you can.

It depends on where you're ordering the laptop through as to how much the warranty is. Usually if it's a student discount through EPP or something it's not that much. I got a steal of a deal on two Dell XPS m1330's over the summer for like $1400 each and they had 3 year on-site warranties with complete care. Also, Dell's business class notebooks carry a 3 year warranty as well as HP's do too. Since Lenovo is geared towards business class notebooks they ought to offer a standard 3 year depot warranty instead of only 1 on the ThinkPads.
