Looks like people in Euro earns more than US? Why so expensive? -
You'll probably be laughing when you guys hear what I've paid for my T60 (not T61).
Specifications can be seen in my signature... And the price, well... Around 1700 USD... That's just how it is in Denmark...
I could've got a better spec'ed T61 with a Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and a 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD for the same price. But I wanted the 14.1" SXGA+ screen in 4:3 design. The T61 was only available in 16:9 design. I didn't have the possibility to customize my notebook on Lenovo's website... -

I dont think it's to helpful without exact machine type
I am a dealer, but since a buddy of mine *had* to have my Z61t because of the size and titanium shell, i sold it and got this. only had one day notice and had to get it same day (thankfully all three major distributors are within a .5 hours drive), so the two most important things to me were Video and Screen, followed closely by CPU and Battery. I ended up with

Nothing so far. Mine was shipped on Thursday night (friday china time), I received yesteray, and IBM still won't take my money.
Anyone else experience delayed billing? In my experience, most merchants will bill you on or before the day the product ships. Sometimes they delay it by a day or two after the item ships so that you are billed upon receipt, but thats rare. Any thoughts?? BTW, I am not complaining.... -
About $1670, all told:
T61:
-T7300
-4GB RAM
-160GB 5400RPM
-1GB TurboMemory
-Quadro NVS 140M
-Vista Business x64
-WXGA+
-Atheros a/b/g/n WiFi and BT 2.0
-7-cell & 6-cell
I know I could do much better now, but that was back in May, right around the machine's release. It didn't seem like such a horrible deal then. *Sigh* -
Some of the prices paid seem very low; are these outlet and EPP deals? How do you rgister to receive EPP deals?
-
Yes, mine was through EPP, but also took advantage of an E-coupon (thanks to this site) and good timing with IBM's 25% off holiday sale. All told, I got a $1800 or $1900 laptop for almost half off.
To reg for epp, you need to be a member of an organization, like govt, school or corporation. I work at Prudential Financial's world HQ in NJ, so that was what made me eligible. I had to call IBM and give them a secret passcode. I'd be happy to share that code, but they actually did call my company to verify my employment. If you know someone, maybe you can use their name and access code?? -
could you explain to me what 'EPP' means or what it is?
Thanks. -
It provides "discounted pricing on ThinkPad, ThinkCentre and other products for Lenovo employees, friends, and family"
Here's the link: http://www.lenovo.com/epp/ -
6460-67U, Specs. in signature, paid 3,2k USD inclusive of 25% Swedish VAT. (Zero Halliburton case not included)
Bought OTC as a consumer, no EPPs or similar.
And since one USDSEK exchange rate was 6,31 it cost me just a little more than 20k Swedish kronor, which is quite cheap considering the same specced Notebook cost almost 40k to buy in Sweden incl. VAT. at that time. -

And, if you go to the Lenovo.com site, you stack the 13% discount with another 25% discount. Only a couple more days left on the double discount. -
Thanks... i cruised over to the CPP site just now intending to see if i could configure the system i had ordered on monday and apply this coupon for a quote lower than my purchase price (and then try to get the price match) but the old 992299 id number is no longer valid.
Were you able to apply this coupon at CPP, or just through the normal lenovo.com?
when i ordered my t61 the coupon USEDECSAVINGS saved me like, $30 over standard CPP, but 13% wouldve obviously been way nicer... -
-
Specs in Signature. Paid 1054$ including tax. Paid $40 extra to add 2GB ram so in total the system as in specs cost me $1094.

...whoa. that's a far estimated delivery date. hmm.

I got a CD/DVD combo and 4 cell battery though. Kind of wish I upgraded those now. I can do it myself but it'll be costly. Anyone know where to get cheap batterys? I want to get a 6 cell. -
-
These are some great prices.
I think the posts would be more useful though if you could share with us how you got such a great deal
(Yes, I'm being selfish now that I've decided to get me a T61 ...) -

why you guy get 3GB or 4GB ram, it is freaking expensive to get it from lenovo. Buy.com had a kingston 2GB 1 stick for just 45(after tax, use new google check out account) -

I took advantage of the holiday sale plus a coupon code that slashed an additional 13% off. Laptop shipped in under 10 days. VERY HAPPY!
-
Looks like the holiday sale goes on until January 7th (unless I'm reading the Lenovo site incorrectly). Can I ask where you found the 13% off coupon if you don't mind sharing this info.
thanks .. happy holidays. -
USPDECEMBER, that's the 13.333 percent off coupon code. Need to be exact. no space, all upper case. -
Thanks sampunk .. I'll give it a try (having problems with the web site as it won't bring up anything on the page that lets me specify the extended warranty).
Happy Holidays. -
This is what I just ordered for $1265 before tax + shipping. Thanks for sampunk posting the coupon, that saved me nearly $200.

I plan on getting 2GB RAM on my own.
2 quick questions: How accurate are Lenovo's estimated ship dates, and do they update their status information fairly regularly? (I will be traveling near the time it's supposed to arrive, so I just want to be sure to make arrangements in case I'm not here). -
http://www.buy.com/prod/kingston-2g...n-sodimm-ddr2-laptop/q/loc/101/206341199.html
I ordered mine on 21, shipped on 23 and it is in Louisville now. Hope i can get it on boxing day
and too bad you missed my first post. If you use paypal to pay for it, there will be a $100 cash back. If you are not in rush, cancel it and order again (i spent 10 minute to cancel my first order because i didn't know about that paypal discount.) -
I ordered mine with one 1GB stick so that I can add a 2GB stick into the free slot. Since the 32bit OS can only see 3GB I don't see the point of 4GB for now. Plus my current T23 has only 768MB with Win2k .. even 1 GB should be a nice improvement, never mind 3 GB .. and the faster processor and faster drive. Can't wait to give the system a try.
I did see the paypal note on the page itself but decicded to use my Visa instead. I feel that using it provides me with better protection in case of problems than paypal -- I just have heard too much negative about paypal to use them for such a large purchase. (I have used them on eBay for small purchases).
Hopefully you'll get your system in the next few days! I'll be keeping my eyes open for a posting from you.
How much did you pay for your t61 ??
