How long does it take to burn the rescue and recovery media? Also, how long does it take to do a clean install of XP? (trying to have some idea so I'll know what to do during the process :p ) Thanks in advance for the info! :)
    (I'll use DVD+RW 1X-4X for everything)

I burned my recovery media in what seemed to be only a few minutes. It really wasn't long. But I was using a new 8x dvd burner. I burned two copies, which is difficult to do because you have to burn a copy, restore and then burn another copy from the restore. I guess I could have copied the first set using some disk copying software, duh. But I also wanted to make sure they worked.

The restore takes FOREVER, I think at least 90 minutes (not kidding).

Installing XP was well, like any install of XP. The speedy x61t I've got didn't make the 49 minute xp install go much faster. Then I had to load all the drivers individually, rebooting etc. I'd say about 2 hours total. Download your drivers from the lenovo site to a USB stick first, as the wireless card won't work with standard xp out of the box.

Sorry I don't have exact timings for you. I can say I was able to get about one install in 2.5 hours. I did this many times over the last week as I tried out various partitioning and "clean" install techniques.

Do you mean in case using wireless connection only?
