How long did your order take to change from "In Process"?

I ordered my laptop on the 7th. It still say "in process." Is that normal? I thought it was more like 3 business days? We are now working on business day 4, and 6 normal days. Should I call?

I ordered a T60 on the 7th. I have been reading the thread of everyone waiting on memory but it seemed like the problem was resolved with the T60s?

I am just impatient I think.

 

Yeah, I'd think your chances of getting soon are pretty good.

 

I ordered on the 6th and I too am "In Process." The estimated ship date for my computer is January 8th online, but the customer service rep told me it said January 3rd in his system. It's hard to say how long it will take, but if it's not shipped by the third, they will surely hear about it.

What is the estimated ship date for your order?

 

Mine said in process from the day I ordered to the day it shipped. There are other possible status messages?

 

I'm just guessing, but I think the answer is obviously "NO".

My estimated ship date is 12/21...ordered on 12/7

blammer, did you order a CTO model or a pre-built one? Also, what memory configuration did you get, mine uses two 1GB sticks and could be the hold up.

 

I got a custom 2613CT model. I have 1GB RAM in 2 Dimms.

I hope yours comes quickly too!

15" TFT active matrix 1400 x 1050 ( SXGA+ ), X1400, T7200 2 GHz, 1 GB 667 MHz, 100 GB -5400, CD-RW/DVD, 9-cell

 

I ordered the model 2613HKU (Core 2 Duo T7200, 14.1" SXGA+, Radeon X1400) with 2-1 GB Dimms, 120 GB 5400RPM HD, 9-Cell Battery, DVD-Burner, Intel 3945 Wireless, and Advanced Mini Dock. It does seem that my order has gotten a longer ship date that other people with similar orders, so probably they are short on one of the parts. Most likely it's not the memory anymore, my guess is the base laptop with the T7200 processor. I'll probably keep bothering Lenovo to try and get more information from them.

As hard as it is, I try to be patient with stuff like this, but January 3rd and 8th are both a pretty long way away. When I ordered my first laptop, the ship date was only two weeks away and I had the laptop in my hands just over a week after ordering. In this case it's been almost a week and it hasn't shipped yet. The way I figure it, there's no harm in keeping in touch with the CS people at Lenovo.

 

Well, my guess was wrong. I called Lenovo and the person this time was a little more helpful. He said that the memory (1 GB PC-5300) is on a four week backorder. Hopefully it doesn't take that long, but with my luck it definately will.

 

Don't trust what they say the holdup is. People who managed to get them to send the 1GB stick separately a couple of weeks ago got the memory before they got the laptop. I really think it just takes them three weeks to build a laptop.

 

Hopefully you are right, the wait is still killing me! I'm not necessarily hoping to get it by Christmas, but I have the week after off and it would be nice to have a chance to play with it. Also, since I'm not living at home right now I'll have to drive back and get it if it comes afterwards. Sure it's only an hour and a half, but it's still a pain in the butt.

 

kf_man, I hear you on the pain in the butt. I had to (not really, I just very much wanted the machine) make a special 240 mile round trip to get my laptop on the day it arrived as well. Being out of town when they arrive kinda sucks.

 

Yeah, same here, it's about 200 miles round trip for me and I will have a very hard time holding myself back from driving all the way there and back just to get it!

 

Well, it's true, the CS people at Lenovo don't know much at all. My laptop finally shipped! It really sucks that they don't have their act together more, when people spend that much money on something, they want up to the minute information.

It's good that it shipped when it did, now I will be able to get it when I go home for Christmas! The really astonishing thing is that it shipped out over the weekend. I know they aren't made in the US, but still it's really weird to have anything substantial happen over the weekend.

As of now they still haven't shipped out the Advanced Mini Dock, but that's the least of my worries. It will give me time to use the laptop as a laptop before I settle back into dock-land. It would be nice if that shipped out by the end of the week though! Anyway, I guess the lesson is (except for a few exceptions) that Lenovo estimates suck. They estimated over a month before shipping my order and actually shipped it in just 10 days.

 

Oh no, I am so sad to hear that it took almost a month to receive the T60 for you guys.

I ordered my T60 on 12/15 and really wish it arrives before 1/10. My classes start on 1/17 and I want at least a week to play with it without thinking about school.

Mine is a 14.1" SXGA+, ATI X1400, 2GB of RAM, 120GB HD (@5400rpm), Intel C2D E7200 2.0GHz, Thinkpad Wireless card, CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo, Fingerprint reader, 6-cell battery.

I'm a little worried about how the standard screen is because many of the computer monitors I use at the moment are wide screen BUT not really a big issue.

 

I just think they're estimates are weird because I ordered mine today 12/19 and it's estimated ship date is 1/2/07 which is before yours which I don't understand. Also just a quick question do they charge your credit card immediately or when they are about to ship it?

 

The ship dates are really weird, but mine shipped in just 10 days when the estimate was over 30 days from the order date. They initially perform a check on the card to make sure you have the funds and then don't charge until they ship your order. In my case since the Advanced Mini Dock hasn't shipped yet, I have not been charged for it (they broke it off into its own order). I'm not sure what the holdup is on that since it's estimated ship date was today and now they moved it back to 1/3 without even sending me an e-mail. I'll probably call tonight and prod them a bit.

 

My T60 is just 30min away from my house and it's only 10:39AM!

By the way, my "In Process" changed to "Shipped" after just 3 days. I am hoping I receive it today which would make it a 5 days to have received.

The estimate was to be shipped on 12/29 heh...
